Shoplifting food question?

Let your friend know that shoplifting ANYTHING stinks. Shoplifters push the price of everything up for the rest of us. The shops don't take the loss. They just p it on to us and we get stuck with the bill for all those who are dishonest. The bar codes on books etc are for the scanners at the till, so the cashier can just scan the item and ring it up that way. It also automatically takes it off the 'stock in hand' list, so the store knows exactly how any particular title is selling at a glance.
