How long does it take for candy to go old?

I have to do a presentation in Japan this summer about Easter, and I want to give each of the students a little plastic Easter egg full of candy. Well...it's easy to get the Easter eggs, but I don't know if I should get the candy right now too. It would be cool if I had things in there related to Easter (like...skittles with little Easter bunnies on their packages or something like that) but I don't know if it would go old by the time I go. I'm going in July, so about 3-4 months... Will it get stale/hard before I go? I don't really mind buying candy later. My mom just thinks it would be fun to have the packaging relate to Easter.
