Finches making a second nest-why?

I have a pair of zebra finches. She laid 4 eggs. Has a very well built nest. She and her mate have given up on the nest and are now building a new nest in another nest box. I'm confused. What are they doing? What should I do with the nest with eggs in it. She laid her first egg on 4/22 and three after that.
